Fourth Year Electives

Senior (4th Year) Electives are offered by the Department of Pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and the UCLA School of Medicine. UCLA medical students are given first priority for these clerkships. When there is space available after the UCLA medical students have gone through their scheduling program, the clerkships are open to 4th year medical students from other medical schools.

Students interested in participating in one of these courses must visit the UCLA visiting medical student website for application information. The following supporting documents are needed for applying for a clerkship in the Department of Pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center: a letter of recommendation from an attending with whom you have worked closely, and original set of transcripts, proof of health insurance coverage, health statement form, photo ID application form, copy of HIPAA certification, and a $100 check (processing fee) made out to: Regents of the University of California.

This information should accompany the original completed clerkship application which must be signed by your Student Affairs Office and affixed with the medical school seal. Applications must be completed and sent to the Course Coordinator no less than six weeks prior to the start of a rotation. All clerkships are 3 weeks in duration.
