Child Life Services
The Child Life Services Program offers resources and opportunities for pediatric patients to create a sense of normalcy and minimize the stress associated with medical illnesses and procedures.
The program organizes special events for hospitalized children such as birthday celebrations, end of chemotherapy treatment acknowledgements, graduations, bedside activities, and activities for inpatient/outpatient playrooms. In addition, the program provides patients with sibling support items, bereavement and legacy items, educational materials and holiday gifts.
Every year, on the first Sunday of December, Child Life Services hosts the Christmas Toy Run, a holiday charity event organized by a group of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power employees.
