The Division of Neonatology has a strong reputation for clinical excellence. We offer both primary and specialized care in infant health service to our immediate community. The clinical program is centered at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center NICU, Intermediate Care nursery and the normal newborn nursery. We also have a highly skilled transport team available for ground transport.

The education program includes a neonatology fellowship training program, with Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) as an affiliated center, responsibility for pediatric housestaff education, lectures provided for medical students, lectures and bedside training for Pediatric Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, and a variety of regularly scheduled conferences for our community neonatologists.

As part of one of the leading research institutions in the country, we have a strong commitment to developing new knowledge in the field and to rapidly bringing these developments to our patients. Divisional research activities are centered within the Perinatal Research Center, a Center of Excellence within the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute.
