Brigette L. Tippin, Ph.D.
Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics
Division of Medical Genetics

Certifications
American Board of Medical Genetics, Clinical Molecular Genetics 2007

Experience and Professional Training:
1992-1996 BS Biological Sciences, University of Southern California, Los Angeles
1996-2004, PhD Molecular Biology, University of Southern California, Los Angeles
2004-2006, NIH Post-Doctoral Fellow, UCLA Intercampus Medical Genetics Training Program

Research Interests:
My research interests are focused on using molecular techniques to design new therapeutics for rare-genetic disorders. Ongoing projects include development of tumor-suppressive agents for an inherited form of colon cancer and new enzyme replacement therapies to treat the brain in lysosomal storage diseases. In addition, I have a long standing interest in mechanisms of error-prone DNA repair that lead to permanent genetic mutations.
